Is it a play off of the Christian fish symbol, representing the Gods and the Goddesses as one verses just the male aspect?
I have seen many Pagans use this symbol and I am curious what it means.

Many Pagan faiths, especially Wicca, worship the triple Goddess, Maid/Virgin, Mother and Crone/Old Woman. She is symbolized by the Moon and its cycle, two cresents, waxing and waning, and a full moon. This symbol )o( represtents that.

The Triple Goddess, who is represented by the moon.

The life phases women and the Goddess go through--Maiden, Mother, and Crone.

It sorta looks like the tree stumps I used to draw in grade school...lol Sorry I couldnt help you as I don't really practice religion.
