A lot of people would love something off their registry. But if you aren't into that, buy a gift certificate that they can use on their honeymoon. My sister got a gift certificate to go on a river cruise and my cousin got a gift certificate to a luau. They loved it!

Unfortunately, special and unique isn't what every newly married couple needs. Having received at least 3 decorative bowls, several hideous platters, numerous vases, and a ton of useless, thoughtful but none the less useless, things, I URGE people to follow the registry. Buy the little things. Buy the necessary things. We spent soooo much time exchanging things because while it was great to get a $200 soup terrine, we didn't have the $30 a set bowls to serve the soup in.

The only venturing from the registry I'd recommend would be a nice engraved bottle of champagne. Schramsberg makes beautiful bottles that you can have engraved with their names and the date of the wedding. Tell them to save it until their 5 year anniversary and then toast to you. This way you know that your straying will at least be useful! : )

Please get them something off their registry!!!!!!! Everyone and their mom tries to get the bride and groom something special and unique and all the bride and groom WANT is whats on their registry!!! Does this mean anything to the wedding guests????? If you do not want to get them what's on the registry, give them a gift card or check wrapped up in something unique and inexpensive like a nice set of linen napkins or something, but please, don't waste money on something they don't NEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CASH!
I know it's tradition to register at a store for China, Lines, etc...
However, nowadays, most married couple need and want the Cash to do whatever they want to with it. What if they don't really need anything?
My Fiance and I are having a Honeymoon Registry. We have everything we need, so we chose to register for cash for our honeymoon

I think traditionally you give money for the actual wedding. I wouldn't order off their registry. They have it for a purpose

A friend of mine gave use a basket with a picnic blanket, wine glasses, bottle of wine, romantic music CD, and a candle. I thought it was absolutely beautiful.

I THINK THE BEST WEDDING GIFT WOULD BE SOMETHING FOR THE BOTH OF THEM. MAYBE LIKE A HOUSE WARMING GIFT OR SOMETHING LIKE A VIDEO OF THEM. LIKE A SPREADSHEET SHOWING THEIR LIFE SO FAR.
