There is nothing wrong with being different. Especially when your born that way. I bet they're just jealous because they usually get more attention with their needs. Handicapped people are the sweetest humans on Earth. Some people just don't respect that...
Like you I have thought about giving up poetry because of what I have read. Never give up a hobbie or a dream. Continue with your poems!

People who hate handicaps are afraid of it happening to them, and they are usually self-absorbed people. I've worked with handicap and I don't hate handicap. I don't sympatize for them because they are just as capable of anything as much as I am, and doing so would only degrade and judge their abilities.
Handicaps do, however, go through more mental adversities than most and I admire their triumph over that.

Listen up America, I'm speaking. We all tell jokes that pick on another group of people. Myself, being a drunk Irishman, I love to hear drunken Irish jokes. I had a good friend who is black and we trade racial jokes and have a good time doing it. If we can't learn to laugh at ourselves , we have no need to be on this earth. As a sitting President,I am sure he will rethink those sort of jokes for the future. There ya have it , TJ has spoken. Have a nice day. Tell some good jokes today!

i work for Seeability i work along side people with learning disabilities visual and hearing impairments, i have seen for my self how people look and feel when we are out weather it's shopping, pubbing, cinema or out for a meal. we get shoved pushed and comments like people like that should be locked up, by people who call them self's "normal" mind i don't know what i have done i must have been a bank robber in a past life so we just smile ignore the comment and carry on.
no cure for ignorant people
