There isn't anything that will "transform" the damaged hair. Some conditioners will help it look smoother and prevent breakage, but it's dead, so no resurrecting it! Just take care of it, use a deep conditioner, and let it grow out.

Let it grow and leave it alone for a while. It might be hard, but your hair needs to grow out and get healthy again before you go about coloring it. Make sure you also keep it trimmed, because the more you trim your hair, the faster it will grow (or so my stylist told me).
You might also wanna get a good shampoo and condition. Nexxus has some great products for damaged/dry hair and so does Redken.

A trim, Infusium 23 ( leave in treatment everyday morning and night ), hot oil or cholesterol treatment. Don't use a blow dryer or heat for a month. Perhaps you should take some vitamins ( make sure they contain Biotin ). Trust me when I say the infusium 23. Once I dyed my hair blonde in the front b by myself. As I was blow drying the hair the **** was falling out in the front. I was like lord have mercy. My mom told me to go to the store and use Infusium 23. I certainly did.To make a long story short the hair has never looked it's best colored.

There are many good deep conditioners on the market that can help. However, the best thing to do is to give your hair a break from the dye and let it grow out.

Cut it short (fresh new style) and give it a good long break before coloring again.
