Well, your age would play a big roll in to what they are thinking. But, if they didn't say anything at all then one of two things could have been going thought there head. First I just wanted to be friends or second wow what do I say I didn't think they felt the same way. I wouldn't press the subject if they don't bring it back up. The ball is now in there court and is up to them what they do with it. So it is out of your control now.

I would back off and give them some time to process all that you have told them. They may have been caught off guard and not sure how to respond best to your confession. Just do your best not to press the topic, let them figure things out for themselves but be available to answer any of their questions.

Laugh it off. Tell them you didn't mean to put them in an embarrassing situation, but had to tell them how you felt. Hopefully, they will laugh about it too and the two of you can remain friends.

I generally find that it's better to kiss first and ask questions later. But since you've already shown your intentions, it might be best to back off for a while and let him/her make the next move.

It may be you caught that person by surprise. Don't get discouraged. The best relationships start out as friendships, don't get discouraged and don't lose your friendship bcuz of this.
