why does love hurt?

The past 6 months i've been living a lie!!!!!! Ny boyfriend that I loved so much just told me that he has been cheating. So why did he keep me the past 6 months if he had something better? He told me it was because we never had time to spen together. But thats all I tried to do was spend time with him. It hurts so damn bad to be used!!

Well love hurts because we're shot in the *** by cupid with an arrow.... Seriously though, it's sad to hear that your bf cheated on you, it's going to hurt for a while, so allow yourself to hurt, let it run it's course like any old fever, but there must come a time when you must stop crying and feeling sorry for yourself and move on.

Love you for who you are, spend time with yourself and get to know the real you and you will gain a greater appreciation and understanding of yourself so much so that you will realize that you don't even need the person anymore. Your bf may have found someone better for himself but that does not mean that he found someone better than you. The sooner you understand, this the sooner you will get over him and realize what it is that you really want out of life and this will improve the quality of your future relationship/s. this could be a blessing in disguise.

I am so sorry you are going thru all this. It hurts terribly when someone betrays your trust. Turn it, when you can, into a life,s lesson. Sometimes we get hurt. On the other hand if we never fall in love, that hurts also. I do not think men love in exactly the same way a woman does. A lot of their love centers on the physical. Women,s love includes so much more. They want to look good to their men, show them off to their friends, have a shoulder to cry on when they are hurting, and most of all to be respected. He fell short. Next time try to take more time to give a man all of your love and expect him to be all of the things I described. It takes time to get over a broken heart, but you will. Just do not give up on love altogether. It is "out there" and you will find the right one for you evenually. Remember, God made Eve first as a companion for Adam, not a lover.

Yeah that happens quite a bit, I think society has alot to do with guys being jerks. I really don't see what the importance of marriage is if one or the other loses interest in the whole thing. I guess my whole thing about it is this, okay so what if one day I do get married and "fall in love" or whatever, then what?!?! Maybe we get bored being married and decide to have children, then what?!? He decides to find someone younger or God knows what, then what was the point of even having the relationship in the first place? It will be like watching years float down the drain. I can't say alot of this is from past experience but I see it through the experiences of other women I see and talk to. I guess maybe its too much to ask to want someone who will listen to you and care about what you're saying, but instead we're stuck with in a society where men only care about what they can get from you, and then forget about you. Thanks for sharing your story. Another reason for me never wanting to get emotionally attached to another guy.

Let me tell you dear, love does NOT hurt. What you had was a fool playing a game. Love is when two people have a relationship in which two, not one person loves and cares for one another. I know now, you may feel like you loved him, but when you really fall for someone, someone who loves you back, it will feel so different, and you will wonder what this thing you felt between you and this guy was. Trust me. You may not understand today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday you will. I hope you let your heart heal from this break, and learn something from this.
