What do you think about age of consent (age of sexualy competence),12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21?? In Vatican it is 12, in most part of Europe it is 15 (or 14), in USA it is 18 (probably).
What is best for you peop.? I'm glad,that in my country it is 15 years Because i started in 15:-).

the system is whacked out
and what needs to happen
is that the parent needs to say that it's ok for their child to have sex. that way it's a parent's judgment call... also: it won't make concervitave people have hernias (always fun though)...
I have to say... that there's something wrong with this.
my girlfriend is 17. she turns 18 soon.
I being 15 can have sex with her untill her birthday... why is it that the state decides that once a person reaches a certian level of maturity they're not allowed to have sex anymore??
is this concept odd, or is it just me.

The problem with legal age is that we hit puberty at about 12, and start wanting it right then and there... but our brain doesn't develop the capability to fully understand the consequences of our behavior until we reach about 22. So theres this decade or so when the body's ready and the brain is not.
Personally? I'd be glad to see a lower age of consent, but that's because I like them young and dumb, and don't want to wind up in prison for mistaking a 17 year old for an 18 year old... but soon that will not matter, because I just don't have the game for getting girls that young any more, if I ever really did in the first place.
For the society? I think that the world would be a much better adjusted place, with a lot fewer regrets if the age was a lot higher... like around 30 or so... but nobody would be able to enforce laws like that, so our justice system would be regarded as nothing but a particularly cruel joke.
Perhaps age of consent should be modified to represent some percentage of age difference between the two people... or a certain number of years depending on age. A person generally should not be dating someone who is only half their age, but once you get to be 90, is it so wrong to oogle a 45 year old?

actually in the us it is 16, its just illegal for people over 18 to be having sex with 16 and 17 year olds, they can still have sex with each other.

i think it should be older than what it is 16 because how many people started earlier and regret it now? how many people who started younger are with the person they were with?

in south Africa it is 16, i started at 17 and i think even that is way too young!
