I am planning to go to my country to reapply a new F1 visa. I have already applied for a duplicate passport of my nationality from a consulate in NY, which I should be recieving in a few weeks now. I have a police report and photocopies of my lost passport, Visa and I-94. Do I need to do anything else other than the above to leave US?

Unless you have your original birth certificate in hand when you attempt to go home, don't go! You need to wait for the new passport to issue.

The I-94 is immaterial to your ability to leave the U.S., as is your foreign passport. However, in order to get past customs in your own country, you will need either your original birth certificate and affidavit of identity, or a passport.

Good luck!

I don't think you can go anywhere without your passport. A photocopy won't do it. That's why passports are confiscated by the police or the courts when they don't want someone to leave the country.

I don't know, but you might want to check with Immigration just to make sure. Better to know now....
