We need a multi-national force with some real clout. The U.N. has been in Lebanon long enough and they've accomplished very little. Israel withdrew from Lebanon six years ago with a resolution from the U.N. that they would prevent a Hezbollah arms build-up. Why should Israel trust them a second time?
Nations demanding an Israeli ceasefire should either put up a genuine peacekeeping force, or shut up!

They shouldn't have a role because they are against Israel and the United States. This is an organization that is not only useless to us, but also dangerous. When are people gonna wake up? I guess it's gonna take another 9/11, only a hundred times worse.

I think that UN has a tough job to deal with the Israeli-Lebanese conflict, the role? Well, they will have to make them to have a cease fire, that long so the AID convoy to be able to help the people in Lebanon.
I think that UN also are trying to calm the situation down slowly but hope so effectively, with these cease fire callings.

Its a tit-for-tat world LEOGIRL. You hurl, you'll get hurled back! So you cannot say Hizbolla to stop, they both (Hizbolla and Israel) should stop and the role of the UN should be exactly what it stands for ... UNITED NATIONS

First I would like them to get Hezbollah from lobbing rockets into Israel. We will never get things settled down and people at the table to talk it out if they keep agitating the situation.

Who knows, they should stay out of it. The UN is it's own worst enemy.
They could run a " Meals on wheels program", since the oil for food program didn't quite work out and they will probably be running out again anyway.

Well I think they should make a nice comment and condemn somebody as they are packing up their stuff and moving to France. We have had them here long enough and we could use the real estate.

UN troops should continue monotoring the Israeli positions and give advice to the Hizzbola (like they did previously) so the Israelis will get pissed off enough to bomb them into oblivion again!

Until they take a neutral and impartial stance - they can have no role.
