That's a tricky one. Did you ask her what she thought it was?
When I was 13, I knew more about sex than my mother would have liked. Kids these days are privy to knowledge that most adults wouldn't expect them to know.
I wouldn't know how to explain it other than giving the facts. It's hard to know whether you are clarifying what she knows or giving her all new ideas.
But truth would be the best way. And don't forget to tell her the dangers (STD's and such). I'd bet she already knows about regular sex. Hopefully she doesn't "know" about regular sex at 13 (unlike my yougest cousin who did at 13).

Tell her to talk to her Mom. If her Mom still doesn't talk to her get soe literature from a health clinic or somewhere that will help you. Most girls that age know way more than they should. It is better that she hear it in a healthy way than on the streets where the lessons learned come with too much misinformation that leads to pregnancies and STDs. There are 13 year olds on this site wondering if they are old enough to have sex and there are 12 year olds where I used to live that are having sex. It is the 21st century. It is sad that they know so much but they do.

welllllll......13's a bit young. But if you don't tell her than someone else will. So tell her that oral sex is a way for 2 people who are in love to make each other feel good. And, tell her that it's sort of like kisses but kisses on privates. I dont' know....gosh, I'm dreading that talk w/ my little one as well. All I can think of, sorry!

I think 13 is too young to be learning that. However, she DID bring it up. That means that if you DON'T tell her, and act like it's some big secret, she's going to keep trying to find out what it is. Had you rather she hear YOUR version? Or the "street" version?
Tell her as honestly as you know how. Honest heart-to-heart answers will keep the lines of communication open, and that's very important.

You can explain the physical basics..I'm not sure how a 13 year old will understand it. I would speak to her school counselor for the best way to go about it. Good luck with the teen years.

Does she know about sex yet? I mean, did she learn about it from an adult? If so, I would explain it in a plain language approach trying not to be too graphic. Remember, if she dosn't get it from you, who will tell her. You know you can give her good info.. Can chester the molester???

She is way too young, I don't think you should tell her. You should just explain to her it is part of sex and don't go into detail. Let her know she is too young for sex and when she is older you will explain.

Be Honest and explain it to her because guess what if you don't...the media will. Do you want her learning it from a porno or someone she loves?

Tell your mom and let her tell her in an adult way. Tell your mom. There is a reason she is asking, and telling your mom will maybe prevent something bad from happening with her or to her. tell your mom about it. :)
