Yes, praying is the best form of positive thinking. When we think positive, good things happen to us. We shape our future by our thinking. If we visualize good things, they will be in our future. God indwells in us and He will see us through to the answer of our prayers....

Joseph Murphy wrote "The Power of the Subconscious Mind." It relates the importance of prayer and exactly how to pray. He also gives appropriate prayers for different situations that have worked for people in the past....)(

Yes. First of all, whatever it is that has "got" me down, I turn it over to the Lord. I ask for His help in reminding me of all the things I need to be grateful for and praising Him for.

Being "down" doesn't last long. I see this life as very temporary, and the joys of being in heaven with the Lord eternal. I also believe whatever circumstances happen to me in this life, I am being taught and molded into what God would have me be. So I try to learn that lesson and praise Him in good times and bad.

If you're religious......then people who pray put faith that their prayers will be answered in some way. For Catholics, praying to St. Jude when they feel that all is hopeless really does seem to help. =)

Also, it's been scientifically proven that praying helps to lower blood pressure, probably because it helps to clear your mind and get your feelings out into words.

That depends on you. Prayer isn't magic. If you don't pray with a righteous heart, then no it will not help you. If you pray with a broken heart and a contrite spirit then yes it will help you.

very much roll your cares over onto the ONE who has the broadest shoulders. Also reading the psalms some favorites for me are psalm 34, 25 and 27 and of course the all time favorite 23.

You can stream them with a nice audio at: http://www.ibs.org/niv/

Prayer is really nothing more than setting aside time to ponder your problem, and to LET GO OF IT! It's the letting go part that does the trick.

So whether or not there's anyone on the other end of the line doesn't matter.
