Hercules. Now let's see ...
• born from a god (Zeus) and a mortal virgin mother (Alcmene).
• while still an infant, a jealous goddess, Hera, tried to kill him.
• performed miraculous deeds.
• descended into Hades.
• died in agony.
• rose again as a god.
Should we believe in an historical Hercules? He's mentioned by Tacitus, Josephus and others.
In short, we have as much (that is, as little) evidence for an historical Hercules as an historical Jesus.

Who knows, a man by the name of Hercules could have existed... but even if he rose again as a god, which he didn't... he wasn't God on Earth.. he was mortal and actually did a lot terrible things if you read about him. Plus, his deeds were fulfilled through strength, they were not spiritual. He did not fulfill prophecy and he can't take away sins. We are not debating History.... yes, both people have had stories written about them, why Jesus? Because of his purpose. Even if I believe in the Historical Hercules he wouldn't be anyone to follow it is of no consequence if he lived or not. You can't say the same thing about Jesus. I agree.. Read Lee Strobels book the Case for Christ and athiest should really check out the Case for Creation, I would love to discuss it with people.

Very true - after all, the Christian get the majority of their historical information from Josephus - and they dont even realize was a biased source he was for historical information....

The reason that they fail to beleive in Hercules, yet they do in Christ is because there is no book written by somoenoe claiming to be God, which tells them that the book is the absolute authority, and that Jesus died for their sins. Instead, the story of Hercules in contained only in books titled "Mythology" - as should stories about Jesus. And I guarantee - 1000 years from now, Jesus' story will be mythology as well...

See, just look at afterlife's response...no book! LOL! SHEEP!!!!!

Of course I believe in Hercules....as myth that is. But those authors were probably exaggerating when they gave him the 12 labours and such. Hydra? Stymphalian birds? Cretean Bull? Golden Apples of Hesperides? I think they just have too much wine to drink when they wrote that. What evidence is there that those creatures ever existed? And so what if historians wrote about them? I could write a book saying that Goku of Dragon Ball Z really existed and some others would corroborate what I said? Does that mean they're real? Of course not!!!!!

It's the same with Mithras (I think that was the name). Many scholars believe that Jesus was taken from much older god-men traditions like Mithras and Hercules. Makes sense.. there's really not much original in the story of Jesus. JRR Tolkein and CS Lewis both acknowledged this in their own way.

What does God call it? Preach love too you? Lets see what God says, to do with you.

You have unbeliever's. Chaff, Scoffers.

An Atheist is a scoffer. The WORD of God, clearly tells you the filhty rags they are, and to stay away from them, and avoid them. We are NOT to plant seeds. God knows it is useless and that is why he tells us, "You stand firm against them" ( Jer.17:8 14:1 Iah 44:4) You disassociate them completely. Any Believer that does not abide in God's own Word, does not know God, according too God Himself. Atheists are "chaff" A simile of the wretchedness of the wicked. Chaff is carried away by the lightest wind, and it's removal brings about cleansing by extracting what is utterly useless. (Ruth 1:22). They will NOT stand in the judgment. They will NOT be able to withstand God's wrath when He judges.( Paslams 76:7 Exra 9:15). This is not my opinion, this is God's very own Words, in the Bible. You know, the BIble? The same Bible atheist scholars quote. There is a reason God, said this. Psalms.1.1-3 Jer. 17:8 14:1 12. 1-2 18:9-10 Prov1.10-19 (vs 5) scoffers:(atheists) those who ridicule God and definatley reject His Law. Prov 1.:22 Ruth 1:22 Jer 18:7 (pull down-destroy) 1:10 (evil-calamity) 18:11

Pslams 1:
godly wisdom here, declare the final outcome of the two "ways". The paths of "sinners" (unbelievers) and the "way of the righteous. he speaks progressively of assoociation with the ungodly and participation in they're ungodly ways.

God said it. End of Story. Jesus Himself said "Let the dead bury they're dead".

Use all the Internet and Dictionaries they want to and call themselves anything they wish. God "defined" what they are by His own words.

They can hang a dog tag* around they're neck in the pits if hell itself and separate each other by name categorically.

God's Word said it. By God's definition. There is NO opinion.

Hate? Where do you get hate? If God's TRUTH is hate too you, then, so be it. You and God, can and will discuss the means of your sciptural interpretation, consisting with a man-made defacto on a motion of plea bargin I guess. I dunno.

LOL wow what a wonderful thought. Apparently though, Hercules didnt have followers who believed every word he said and put it down in a book to "benefit" humanity. Its a great idea though.

OK. You have convinced me. I am now a believer in ancient Greek religion. It seems so obvious now that all these Christians are just poor misinformed sheep. I will go pray to Zeus now.
