I have always preferred Tri-X pan B&W film but now I want to try color. I show at galleries and sell framed enlargements. Colleagues insist I need to try color again. Any ideas??? I know the resolution in slide film is generally higher. Brands of film? I take street photos, and head shots mostly!!!!

Many people (myself included) prefer Fuji Velvia 50 for landscapes. It is a beautiful film, however its exaggerated color rendition is rarely kind to skin tones.

Provia and Astia, as well as Velvia 100F all have very accurate colors. (There are two Velvia 100s, One which behaves very much like Velvia 50, and the other, 100F has more accurate color rendition.)

If you're looking for a 400ISO film like Tri-X though, Provia is the only option of the three available to you (Which isn't really that bad. I think provia is a great film. It has very fine grain even at 400ISO.)
