We never got to see the best of Salvador Sanchez. Underrated and extremely talented, could have been the greatest Mexican fighter ever and believe me Mexico have alot of great fighters. Who can forget his fight with Wilfredo Gomez displayed all the attributes that all great fighters have. Well conditioned, fast hands and feet, smart and brave, can punch and take an even bigger punch. What's not to admire about him but Julio was very tough in those early nineties late eighties. I'd still go for Salvador. I thought Juan Laporte beat Julio Cesar Chavez.

That's a tough bout to call. I would have to go with the kid from Culican, Sinaloa, Mexico, Julio Cesar Chavez. He had the ability to absorb all kinds of punishment and not only still be standing, but to come back and win the fight. As great as sanchez was in his day, I don't think he beats Julio.

This would be one for the ages.
Sanchez - W 44 - KO's 32 - TF 46 -wins over Rueben Castillo, Danny Lopez, Juan LaPorte, Wilfredo Gomez and Azumah Nelson - top 5 all time as feather wt.(126 lbs.) - only lost 1 time.
Chavez - W 108 - KO's 86 - TF 116 - wins over R. Castillo, R. Mayweather, E. Rosario, M. Taylor, R. Lockridge and 5 or 10 more over good boxers (the majority of these were KO's) - champ in 3 wt. divisions - Ko'ed 3 times (all late in his career by bigger men) - top 3/5 all time in 3 divisions super feather, light and super light - pound 4 pound all time top 10.
The fight: Sanchez was never KO'ed. Chavez had more than twice the amount of bouts as Sanchez. Chavez in 14/15 or decision. How about a surprise ending: both men unable to continue due to cuts.

Chavez. As great a boxer as Sanchez was, I believe Chavez's strength, chin, and determination would win the day. Chavez on TKO in 12th (with him trailing on the scorecards).
PS Fallenmalak, Sanchez never fought Bazooka Limon. I think you are referring to Wilfredo Gomez, whom Sanchez stopped in 8 rounds as a heavy underdog. Gomez was the unbeaten 122 lb champ at the time and was moving up to 126. Limon was a two time 130 lb champ.

at Jr Light, I'd give it to Sanchez. He was quicker from the outside than Chavez.
I know Chavez was a great counter-puncher, but Sanchez would take that into account.
If he kept it a boxing match, he'd win.
However, if Chavez lured him into a slugging match, Chavez would win with his devastating body punching.

Sanchez no problem, better skilled boxer and can be a fighter if pushed that way, also can take harder punches than Chavez.

It is sad to remember the demise of Sanchez. He was an excellent boxer before his fatal accident. However I would pick Chavez.

SALVADOR SANCHEZ IS AN AMAZING BOXER, I SAW THE
FIGHT MANY YEARS AGO WHEN HE DEFEATED THE UNBEATEN CHAMPION AT THE TIME "BAZOOKA LIMON"
SANCHEZ EASILY DESTROYED LIMON IN THAT CLASSIC
CONFRONTATION. I BELEIVE THAT SANCHEZ WAS A GIFTED
BOXER BY BIRTH,TRULY AMAZING!!! SANCHEZ WOULD WIN
CHAVEZ HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
