Why hasn’t the UN demanded the unconditional surrender of Hezballah?

Amid the calls for Israel to ‘stop the violence’ something seems to have been lost. Moral clarity. The international community seems unable to find the moral clarity to oppose Hezballah, a terrorist organization, with anything more than a few token words. It’s so much easier to demand that Israel ‘stop the violence’. The pathetic incompetence of the UN takes some time to digest but it staggers the imagination how very incompetent and pathetic it actually is.

Protestors ransack and destroy UN headquarters in Beirut and the, "personal representative of U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan in Lebanon," condemns Israel! Is this not amazing? I suppose that if the IDF had instead bombed the UN headquarters in Beirut in retaliation for Hezballah rockets hitting a residential home in Israel that he would have condemned Hezballah? No? Well, why not?

The UN condemns all forms of terrorism, whether conducted by non-state actors or by state-sponsored bombing campaigns. The UN is not supposed to take one side over the other; instead it condemns all violence. The UN's problem with the current campaign in Israel is a reservation that has been expressed by the rest of the world: it is asymmetrical and disproprtionate to the amount of force that was exerted by Hezbollah. As a result there is a far greater number of civilian deaths and damage to infrastructure that is threatening Lebanon's very existence as an independent state. Hezbollah is part of Lebanon, like it or not, and it is up to all of us, the UN included, to strike a position between the two and recognize that no side has the complete moral upper hand in a war where atrocities are committed on both sides.

Hezbollah is a popular resistence in Lebanon that helped free it from Israel occupation.
Terrorists are those who rocket residentials and other criminals who support them.
Therefore watch out what you're saying because you can become cursed by the wrath of "Boogoo Moogoo".
