Hypocrisy. People today are labeling the Americans in Iraq and the Israelis in Palestine and Lebanon as Barbarians, but to tell you the truth the term "Barbarian" should be removed fro the dictionary and replaced by the terms "Israelis and American" as the crimes and uncivilized behavior of both of them is beyond imaginations and surpassed any previous anti human behavior even the Nazi and the Barbarian, and if you don't agree then you are not watching the news or you are a supporter of their war crimes.

America is not "Christian," especially when there is a reasonable President (like Clinton) in office, who puts human rights above religious crusades.
Thank goodness for term limits. The leadership in this country will be sane again in 2009.

it is a very vast question. Atheism actually means 'without god' and considering the fact that maximum human acts of devastation were contained in the call of one god or yet another, this can recommend that they seem to be a lot less risky than those with a faith. in case you imagine about it in a more effective precis way, atheism promotes free wondering and the alternative to believe what you opt for without the challenge of someone telling you what's genuine with none data. in this kind, many faiths extremely promote lack of expertise over information. (The reasoning in the back of this lays with early society people attempting to type a achievable society that applications nicely mutually. faith is a very valuable thanks to attempt this, for this reason why there are such diverse similarities between them). So counting on what you recommend by technique of harm, in early human society atheism ought to were more effective unfavorable to the progression of the human race yet in recent cases (the finest one hundred fifty years or so) faith is dropping its position in present day society.

Wow, you're really sarcastic. Can't believe it. Actually, the Serbs are a large part of the reason Europe isn't Muslim (and therefore a large part of the reason the Enlightenment happened, and you're free to be a "freethinker" without being executed).

America is not a Christian nation, it just happens to have a lot of Christians in it. America tries to stop injustice when it sees it. Genocide of a people is not right, it matters not what religion they are.

People are Christian or not.
Government, at least ours, supports what group seems to be, at the moment, in our "best interest" to support - of course we as a nation get bite in the butt a lot because of it too.
Hi to DEP - actually our forefathers were actually avidly against state religion (such as the church of England, church of Sweden etc)

America is NOT christian. Christianizing the dollar bill AND the pledge of allegiance came MUCH later. Our forefathers were actually avidly against religion - not spirituality - when formulating the union.
