Unless Christianity is the only religion on earth - then the answer is NO!
Science books have been compiled over centuries of painstaking experiment to prove the theories it contains. The Bible was written 2000 years ago by stone age men attempting to answer unanswerable questions. My math book does not say that 2+2=4 "because God says so" - its been proven. Nothing in the Bible has been..... And cannot a Christian make a good arguement without rhetoric??

Usually, but all religions don't use the same bible. I always reference the book & verse in the bible when I give an answer. I think this is a good policy. God Bless You.

The category would say just that---BIBLE.
It does not say BIBLE.
So, in all due respect, the category means that answers about Religion/Spirtituality are not particularly meant to be for answers from the Bible but opinions, feelings, testimonies, and maybe answers about Religion/Spirituality and Bible versus. It is not about memorizing the Bible. Anyone can "memorize" the Bible but to live it and know it is entirely different. A verse is not always needed for someone's outlook or opinion and definitley not needed to be memorized but LIVED. AMEN Thank you for your opinion and feelings on this. I dont see it in any Bible either. Thanks for sharing.

But is it necessary to cut/copy/paste whole pages of scripture to answer a simple question, especially when the scriptures pasted have absolutely nothing at all to do with the question being asked? And why do you quote the bible when the question isn't about the bible?

I expect some questions on the Bible and Christianity. But there are other forms of spirituality that are just as legitimate. I expect those to be respected too.

It's pretty presumptuous of you to think that the Bible is the "only" reference book on the subject of Religion and Spirituality.

Thats the point of Yahoo Answers. The answers the other questions in the rest of the categories can be found in books as well.

I agree with you l00%. Surprised, it doesn't happen very often does it. If you want an arguement, get someone talking about religion, and it will be not long until an arguement is boiling over in to anger or sarcasm. We are emotional and passionate beings and we should be steadfast in our loyalties to our God. If you believe you can change someonews mind by arguing about what to believe, you are really wasting your breath , and confirming to your argument partner that they are right and you are wrong.
Human nature.

The bible should not be memorized, it is to study, know, understand, decipher, transform, teach, relate. To simply have the ability to regurgitate something chapter and verse is not knowledge, wisdom or understanding, its grandstanding desperation that unfortunately allows people to sell and puppeteer their minds, body and soul so that they speak without knowing, understanding, or articulating what they are spewing.

I go here because I have studied religion enough to answer questions that are direction about religion, and I can also provide an atheist perspective on questions about religion's role in society.
