I actually read an article about this the other day as I have had 3 c-sections and am pregnant with my 4th due in January. My OB asked me if I wanted to try a VBAC and I am considering it, but will wait to see how big the baby appears to be as I tend to have babies too big for my pelvis and I don't progress well.
Doctors have determined that there is no greater risk after 1 c-section than after multiple, so VBAC could be an option. It seems that doctors will try for more VBACs in the future because of this, but it may be a few years before everyone is of this way of thinking.
Below is the article I read. It shows women who have had multiple c-sections have a 0.9% chance of a rupture compared to a 0.7% rupture in women who have had only 1 c-section.

The best thing to do is speak to your OB and see what they advise as they know why you had the c-sections to begin with.

I personally haven't but if you go to mothering.com's message boards, they have a section on VBAC and I do know that there are women on there who have had successful VBAC's after c-sections.

What were the reasons for your c-sections? you may not be abel to have a VBAC do to the reasons. Failure to progress, narrow pelvis. Most dr's wont atempt a vbac after a second c-section.

I've had three c-sections, but they would not let me have a VBAC b/c of the risks. It's just safer to have another c.

As an RN I truly know of no doctor who would perform a VBAC. The chance for evisceration of post-surgical scars is too high. If you do find one who will perform it, please take the time to evaluate her/his reputation. Is it very important to you to have a vaginal birth?
