I'm trying to reconcile the idea of the biblical God being a God who loves Humanity, and a few verses in the bible.

Consider the following:
In Genesis we have the story of Adam and Eve eating from the forbidden tree. God, in His infinite wisdom and power, decides to curse every Human with death and disease and the inheritance of the original sin (thus we are all born sinners).

Now consider that not one Human has a choice about being born, and not one Human alive had anything to do with the decisions of Adam and Eve.

If God wanted, God could have wiped out Adam and Eve and started over with two new Humans, avoiding the need to curse all of Humanity with death, disease, and original sin (and spared Jesus the cross), I wonder why he decided to bring all this misery into the world when it was in His power to start over.

So how does cursing every Human since Adam and Eve with death, disease, and original sin demonstrate God's love for Humanity?

Not to mention that the whole tree thing was god's fault anyway. Supposedly he's an all-knowing, all-powerful being, right? He *put* the damned tree there, and knew what was going to happen even before he did it, right? What other purpose could the tree have possibly had? It's like giving a baby a piece of candy, then punching the baby for stealing your candy.

Oh yeah, that's great, Caboman. We're supposed to believe that god is good because he's willing to torture his own son? Very convincing.

But if Jehovah had wiped out Adam and Eve and started over, how would the Jewish scholars have explained why bad things happen without it being 'God's' fault? You're forgetting the chronology of the bible: first came reality, followed by man trying to build a believable religion around it.

in accordance to the Trinity doctrine, Jesus is God, yet a separate guy or woman from the daddy. The doctrine teaches that there are 3 separate persons -- the daddy, The Son and The Holy Spirit -- who all contain one God. If this coaching is authentic, there should not be any scripture interior the Bible that portrays Jesus as an entity separate and diverse from God -- separate and diverse from the daddy, definite; yet no longer separate and diverse from God. via way of assessment, word that there is not any scripture interior the Bible that portrays the daddy as a separate and diverse entity from God. it could be fully ridiculous, complicated, pointless and contradictory for the Bible to many times communicate with Jesus as an entity separate and diverse from God, if Jesus is God. however the scriptures you quoted do basically that. many times they communicate of Jesus being on the main remarkable hand of, no longer the daddy, yet God, hence contradicting the Trinity doctrine. with the aid of fact the Bible is God's be responsive to fact, the undeniable fact that it so often contradicts the Trinity doctrine can propose in basic terms one situation -- the Trinity doctrine is fake. (John 17:17) i think -- with the aid of fact i think maximum folk have a minimum of a modicum of intelligence -- that deep down, many Trinitarians be responsive to that the doctrine is fake. yet delight and/or a prefer to slot in with the 'Christian' crowd compels them to play alongside, pretending or convincing themselves that they suspect it. Many are hence in a state of denial approximately this falsehood. basically look at how they answer the question. Many won't even handle the particular situation you have raised, head on -- with the aid of fact they'd't. Their in basic terms decision is to ignore approximately it and quote different so called 'data texts'. that may not with the aid of fact they lack intelligence. this is as a results of the fact there is not any credible and passable argument to disprove what the Bible -- God's authoritative be responsive to fact -- very blatantly shows.

Great question Bob. Unfortunately, youre using logic to pick apart the story of Adam and Eve - and logic doesnt belong in a discussion about religion - the two are mutually exclusive.....

Youre gonna get the whole "free will" crap... But that answers nothing. That, or you will get rhetoric - look at the above response...

I'm going to surmise that you believe in God, or you wouldn't be questioning His judgment.

Here's what God said to Job when Job questioned His actions:

"Who is this that darkens my council with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man. I will question YOU, and you shall answer ME. (caps mine)

Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?

Then there's this from that same Almighty God:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever would believe in Him would have eternal life."

Don't get me wrong, brother. I remember feeling exactly as you do. Maybe more so. But I finally had to admit that God is in charge and what He says, stays said.

No - there is no Original Sin - if there was original Sin - God would have had to commit it - God does not Sin:

Christian respond will be that GOD murder, rape , genocide is a beatifull thing. They only dream that they could have the pwoer to genocide every1 the way god did and concider that the right thing.
Imagine Christian rapes a female and she does not cry out loud and Christian has to stone her to death. THey realise that's the most beatifull way to treat a female and will fully justify that.
