I know he likes me too and I want to go out with him, but I know everyone would have a problem with the age differnce. but we've been flirting for a long time and I think he's liked me longer than I've like him. I'm about to be 17 in september. ppl say it's illegal if i'm not over 18 and that I could be "jail bait" but it's only illegal if you've had sex.

he still acts like he's a teenager (which is strange), but I know it would be a bad idea to go out with him. I dont even want to have sex until i'm married.

Relax and enjoy being a teen. Enjoy your friends, school, job, etc. You have to wonder why a 22 year old flirts with a teenager. He is not as mature as women his age.
You may feel flattered and important that an older man gives you attention. But he's strange. I would be turned off if I were you.

Well, generally a 22 year old guy would probably kiss a 16 year old girl. But that, to me, seems a little huh... you know what i mean? But you know 6 years is a huge gap when you're 16, now as soon as you turn 20, it won't seem AS big a gap it is now. I would suggest not to, however if you are very attracted to him then there is really nothing you can do right. If he acts that way, he will probably kiss you back. But, consider that fact that after you do kiss, you may need to talk about what that means, and where you're friendship/relationship is going and what not, if you know what i mean.

Until you guys really need to talk about anything personal that isn't 'for public consumption', you can probably just go out with a bunch of people after church.
If you need to talk about personal things, do it at your home when your parents are around (but not necessarily so 'around' that they can hear every word you say). Keep room doors open rather than closed.
And keep it platonic until you guys are ready to:
really put each other first (even above Mom and Dad)
take full responsibility for the consequences of your decisions and for your life together (instead of running home to Mommy and Daddy if, God forbid, something goes wrong)
make a permanent commitment - in public so you're accountable.
Then get married, and if you've done all that, it'll be much more than just a piece of paper, you'll have a good foundation for a successful and lasting relationship.

Assuming you're in the US, check your state laws carefully. Many places, that big an age difference with you under 18, he's looking at a potential felony (with a lifetime on the "sex offender" registry) even if you're just heavy petting. How likely the cops are to get interested depends on your jurisdiction, and also on whether any interested adults (like your or his parents) call them up to complain.

Some states have age of consent at 18, some are 17, some are lower if the guys is younger. Do him and yourself a favor and check your state at http://ageofconsent.com for help finding the appropriate law in your jurisdiction.

Thats a tough one.Can you try to date him for 1 year(sorta)without doing it till your 18.That is all i can say.And the pastors son part. Look, he is 22 he is an adult and you are a year away from adulthood.He makes his own decisions you make yours.And hey if you do do it lol Dont tell anyone.

I do not mean to insult you at all. However I have to question the logic of any 22 year old guy with a 16 year old girl. I can understand your side but for him. Something is not right with this dude. If he was well adjusted emotionally he would be with w 22 year old woman. watch yourself.

Well the people are right because with him being 22 eventually he will want to have sex. It's hard to control feelings or the way you feel about someone but you can control yourself. Dont give in to temptation.

i almost had a lass who was 16 whne i was 19. nothing wrong with it. just wait to have sex for 2 years and for get what other people say. use your head and be a good girl and whne you turn 18 the two of you should be able to relase your caged up uges.
