Looks are important, but a bad personality can make the most beautiful woman ugly.

Come on now. Gals care about looks just as much as guys do. Both sexes want someone that is attractive and also have a great personality. The problem is that a great looking guy with a great personality is just as rare as a great looking gal with a great personality. Extremely attractive people seldom have great personalities because good personalities never have to be developed if your great looking because people will be attracted to you because of your looks.

I know i'm not a bloke but i was wondering...
2 all those that said looks are most important and that personality doesn't matter, is what u said true even when looking 4 a long term partner? surely then they'd have 2 have a very good personality?

Most guys are first drawn by looks, as it's the obvious external view that is presented first. Guys serious about relationships will also care about a girl's personality and getting to know the girl. Guys just looking for the physical stuff will get in, get what they want, and bail out, with another scratch on their bedpost.

i am now 41 years old i used to be a male model for jeans and t shirts i . so i could take a good pick of the girls . i went for looks all the time i have had years of unhappiness after 18 years i worked out what person i wanted put looks aside and now i am relay happy . i looked in her heart not looks . so the answer is prob yes they door

Both are very important - there absolutely has to be physical attraction or we can be great friends but ...... sex - I don't think so.
Young guys only care about looks at first - as men age the personality becomes more and more important. - for all the reasons given.

Looks is important.. not that im being shallow or anything.
If you try and hookup with someone then you have to be attracted to that person, but lets say she's a friend and you got to know her better, then i think personality plays a major part, not looks

I think two good looking couple, specifically hollywood actors breaking up and a girl ending up with a guy who looks like he was born with two assess and no face is enough to explain the answer you're looking for.

Its a combination, the better looking you are, the less personality you need. The reverse is also true, the uglier you are, the more personality you need...nobody wants an ugly broad thats a *****

I'm going to be honest with you. There are guys out there who only care about looks. But most guys like girls they can just talk to easily. When I met my girlfriend, I was bowled over by how easily we could just talk about anything! To me, that's a lot more important than looks. :-)
