Love your enemies, and pray for them. I think I read that somewhere in the Bible once.
And try to talk to them. Try to get them to come around to another way of thinking -- a Christ-like way of thinking.
And then, if they continue to do as they'd been doing, you can "shake the dust from your feet," so to speak, and leave.
But at least give them a chance first. Christ wants us to minister to and evangelize everyone. Once we've done that, the rest is up to them.
There was a time in my life, not all that long ago really, when I might have joined in with these folks and their ridicule and scorn -- especially if you'd gotten enough liquor in me.
If God can turn me around, He can turn anybody around -- including the "swine" you're talking about.

We should tell them that Jesus Loves them to, and plant the seed to see see if it grows,he came to save the sinners not the self righteous,the well have no need of a doctor,but the sick Do.so no I don't believe that we should shun the Backbiters,and blasphemous people,those are the people that need the help the most,how would we help God if we only helped the saved,and not the sinners....Look at Paul he was a persecutor of Christians and look how God used him....

Danged right! Blasphemous! Anybody that questions any of these inerrant truths are blasphemers, and unworthy swine, to be left only for the Lord to deal with, according to scripture:
* a universe in which all that exists are the earth and heaven
* solid 'firmament' structure (the sky) separating the earth from heaven (terrarium earth)
* talking snakes (with legs) and donkeys
* shepherd staff turning into an asp
* demons chased out of people and into pigs
* friendly spirits
* evil spirits
* walking on water
* multiplying loaves and fishes
* food falling from the sky
* conception by a ghost
* people raising from the dead
* the sun stopping in its tracks
* parting seas
* sending she-bears to devour unruly, ill-manered children
* people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky)
* world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain
* creating people from dust bunnies and ribs
* magical tree of knowledge
* god speaking from a burning bush
* ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker

I think we should PRAY for them all and not turn the other cheek. In the Bible it says to love thy enemy. If we just ignore what the "devil" says and not overrule with God's ways, then the devil wins. I make a promise to only live by Gods rules and if that means answering "blaphemous" questions then I will answer them and with the Almighty God working through me! Amen!
So I say no we shouldnt stop answering. Let God's love shine through it all!!

Perhaps you should stop judging others as well.
Oh but wait, that would be following the parts of your teachings that you tend to ignore.
Answer me this one as well: How can anyone who preaches hatred, bigotry, discrimination and therefore violence against gay people in any way call themselves a 'christian?' WWJD?
FYI I don't write or answer questions with an agenda (normally) but yours was so "holier-than-thou" I just had to. Not an atheist either, before you go invoking that.

Sorry but I can't go along with all this mumbo-jumbo. An abolishion of ALL religions would be an abolishion of war. Right now, we have the Israelis and Palestinians killing each other. Why? THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME RACE!
In Eireland, we had Protestants and Catholics killing each other. Why? THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME RACE!
So if you think that turning a blind eye to these atrocities in the name of religion is acceptable, please carry on. Personally, I'll stick with facing reality.
So, in answer to your question; Yes I think it's preferable that you don't answer blasphemous questions. The truth might hurt.

Do what you want, but if you ever want to talk with someone interested in changing your mind about truth and reality, send me an email. I'm here for you.
I will occasionally still poke a light-hearted jab at a Christian; it's very frustrating that Christians as we know them still exist in such a technologically advanced world. Perhaps that is the emotion that drives people to be offensive. I think I speak for many non-Christians when I say that I care very much about Christians and would very much like to save them from their unfortunate misguidance.

I don't know about "blasphemous" questions, but as an atheist, I try to avoid most of the questions that are clearly written just to get a reaction out of people. Yes, I think you should do the same.

I understand your point, but I don't think they are all swine, (though some probably are) and I am not afraid of their questions. Some are not worth answering, true- but someone young, who may not know what we know, might read what is said, and make up their minds for themselves. I don't want them to see Christians as intolerant. God deals with all things in His time.

I understand your spiritual weariness, but remember our commission as Christians in part is to "Go ye out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in." We can only lead the horse to water; we cannot make it drink. It's easy to want to overlook the obviously blasphemous questions but we must answer the best we can remembering the Scripture that says, "Woe unto those who do gender strife." God will have His day against them all (and us as well, if we're not careful).

I think that some of them are valid questions that people are curious about. As long as you answer them truthfully and backed up with facts from the Scriptures, then I don't think you should stop. The Bible says that we should always be prepared to give an answer for our beliefs. Sure, some might be offensive, but it shows that people are thinking and wondering about things.
