This is a non-profit that I and some partners just started. Right now, because we are so smal, there is no overhead. We are all volunteers and operate during our vacation time to help students who are less fortunate then us. This is a great cause.

There are many reasons why people give to others, Some give to get something in return, Others give for sympathy of a cause or appreciation from the recipient.
If you give you should do so because it makes you feel good to do so and without any expectations of thanks or appreciation from the recipient, If you have given and it made you feel good, You have already gotten what you wanted and you should leave it at that regardless of what the recipient does with your gift.

I always check overhead cost's before giving. The American Red cross has many executives making $200,000 a year. Bob Doles wife was one of them. After you check them out then give. I give to my local Homeless shelter. I know what they make to run it.
BTW, it is against the terms of service on yahoo to ask for donations on Yahoo. Sorry. I need to see the books not just your word that it's a non profit.

"Giving" does not necessarily mean giving money. It may also be helping others without being paid or sharing your love. It can be as simple as a smile. It should not make you feel "awesome" or "fantastic" because it is something we do every day mostly without even knowing it.

like i need to be doing it transparently, not expecting anything back, not risking feeling resentment later. like i do it out of pure generosity. not to control them or get a relationship.
