That's a blanket generalization. And a rather shallow and narrow-minded one, at that. What position are you in to judge anybody, especially a group of 150 million people? Need I say more?
It matters because you said something unfair about a lot of people, and it's still a generalization. People will respond when you say untrue things; not because they have a deep-seated fear that it might be true, but because they want to right your wrong.

You are generalizing, but I completely see where you are coming from. Know that I am not like that though! Sure I am not perfect, I have been shallow, but I narrow minded? No! I am not that shallow, only in certain aspects. Get to know before you judge.

There are 150million of us. I wasn't aware you met all of us. Besides, shallow and narrowminded is a matter of opinion. I have been accused of being narrow minded on many occasions, but its only because I held true and fast to my convictions.

It is the way the ones are that you have taken the time to get to know.
Thank you for insulting every American male though in 2 sentences. (and you wonder why they're defensive?)
Too bad you have had to get to know he ones among them who are that way. I hope you'll meet some better ones before trying to import a foreigner. They are out there, try looking in other places.

I feel it's because American women have no self-esteem and they do everything in their power to please men. Everything from clothes, dying their hair, having sex and even platic surgery. Men in this country can be shallow jerks because the women in this country allow it. What is really scary is that this behavior can be seen in kids who are as young as 12&13.
