The easiest answer to your complicated questions goes back to the Jim Crow laws of the south. When the Civil Rights movement moved in to the deep south many of the stated changed there flags to represents the CSA is a small way. The Emancipation Proclamation during the civil war only freed the slaves in the CSA it did not stop slavery in the North with did exist. Also because the CSA split from the Union under the stars and bars flag, in want most people see as a desire to keep slavery in the south, to many it still represents that. But i do want to add that the CSA split was driven mainly by the issues of states rights. One of which was slavery, but it was not the only reason for the Civil War.

One of the reasons is that during the Civil Rights Movement, many Southern states (including South Carolina) began to fly the Confederate flag from their statehouses as sort of a warning. These flags were meant to serve as a symbol of white supremacy - they flown on purpose in direct opposition to civil rights. Many people don't know that, and hence their attachment to the "history" of the Confederate flag remains exactly that. However, many people misconstrue their attachment as an attack on equal rights, and some white power groups did seize on the flag as a symbol of their cause.

The Union flag abolished slavery first and made the confederates do the same.
The confederate flag is still used by people (to use the term loosely) who think they are better than others.

And please undergo in recommendations that the conflict became no longer began to "loose slaves". It became all approximately money, the north basically ought to no longer enable the south secede with the aid of fact it might have further the completed us of a down. The slaves have been freed to cripple the south and end the conflict. additionally, white and black died battling for the south and wearing that flag. Even in the present day there is an previous black guy that walks miles and miles throughout the south wearing a torn and tattered accomplice flag. do no longer have confidence each little thing you study at college approximately how the hounds chased the slaves. some have been very proud of their vendors and enjoyed the family individuals. Lincoln on the different hand first had a gathering to communicate delivery the slaves removed from usa. definite, black slaves died beside their masters, yet a number of those masters had already freed their slaves too. do no longer have confidence each little thing you study.

I think that it is a lack of education really. Since all through school, all that was taught was how unracist the north was, and how terrible the south was..when in all actuallity, both the north and south were terribly racist and kept slaves. But since history in school has always given the one sided story, the south is seen as the only evil if you will..hence, is why many black people still disaprove of the Confederate Flag.

because under the American flag things changed and in parts of the south there is still strong hatred towards blacks and they are still hung and tortured for no other reason than being black which is a bunch of bull s**t. if i hung another white person what the hell would you think?? but it's not right to do that to a white person in the south but it is to a black person. i'm sorry but it's 2006 this country needs to grow the F U C K up and get along. oh and white men don't get mad when you see white women like me with a black man. cause it was inevitable. you can't please us like the black men in this country can so give up that fight. you are never going to win
