I slept with a work mate, we only work together for half of the year and live in different countrys. I sent him an e-mail a while after it happend just saying that I was embarrased about what happened but I liked him and still do! I hav'nt heard anything back yet as yet (3 weeks)! How am I going to face him and work with him again?

There is nothing you should be embarrassed of. You work together but it's not a crime to like your collegue or to find him very attractive. It was an encounter of two adult people, you should remember of it with the smile on your face.
The other thing is if you really liked him and wish something more and you think that he isn't really interested in the idea.

He's prolly just as embarresed as you are and doesn't know how to reply so he's putting it off.
You have two choices, you can act as though nothing has happened and get on with your work OR you can talk to him about the situation and see if anything may come of it.

Hold your head up high, you didn't do anything wrong, just a foolish mistake.
Seems that all he wanted was a quick jump in the sack. So he used you, so he is the one that should be embarrassed.
Let him be the one to come to you to apologize.

If he won't respond after three weeks he's a jerk. It's going to be tough, but the best thing for you to do at this point is try your best to act like you don't care and it meant nothing.

Maybe he's just not checking email or something. Don't overreact to that. Just be yourself. You can face him. You didn't do anything he didn't do. It's okay.
