They were only on the ark for forty days and forty nights. It's not like they were on there for six months to a year.

There aren't very many large animals that would require transport on the ark. Even those that were big, like elephants or rhinos, are pregnant for up to two years. Noah and his family only rode the waves for a little more than a year. Most of the animals on the ark were very small and didn't take up much room. (rodents, birds, ect...) By the discription in given in Genesis for the size of the ark, there was enough room in the ark for three times the animals that they had. Most of the ark was filled with food and supplies. As the supplies were used up, that gave more room for the new animals that were born durring the flood. There has been a lot of evedience to prove that the story of Noah's ark was true. see the attached link.

The ark was on water for 40 days and 40 nights. For that period (40 days), only small animals would be able to deliver babies, that is, if these animals mated on the day of the Great Flood. No animal may have conceived for at least a week or two into those 40 days.

Till this day the giant oil tankers that cross the oceans are designed similar to the ark . In the bible God told Noah exactly how to build the ark. It was a perfect plan . God knew how much room would be needed ..... Read your bible & you will see that Noah - his family and all the animals were on the ark for more than 40 days.....Take care !

It rained for 40 days and then they were on the ark for about a month. Just how many babies can be made in that time. I know a cat it take 12 weeks. The big animals much longer...and so on and so fourth. It was a big boat. OK??? Just what are you trying to find out?

Could you imagine the movement alone? They probably had a bumper sticker that said "If this ark is rocking don't come a knocking" it was probably right next to the " Will brake for rapture" sticker and a tiny little fish.

Actually, they wre on there for several months after the 40 day/40 nights rain stopped. But seriously, the gestation period for most animals is longer than a couple of months. The ones with a shorter gestation are pretty small. Good question, though. lol

Well I don't believe in the story either, but during 40 days and 40 nights, not many animals would have produced offspring, their gestation periods would be too long, except for rodents and their ilk, also many animals would not have "gotten it on" if they were in confined spaces and in a heavily stressful environment.
I like Cantankorous' arguement

I'm sorry that you have to be so against the Bible and what it teaches.
Here's an idea.
Go outside and find something to do, and stop talking about something that you don't even believe in.
I suppose without having Jesus Christ as a model to strive to imitate and follow, people who don't believe in him, or his Father, Jehovah, have no respect for people's beliefs and like to spend their time mocking what others believe.
Ah, well. To each his own.
