You know me Jane, huge fan:P His parents told him he didn't have much of a head, so he better use his body instead. They couldn't have been supportive of him. They were obviously poor. His name is really Robert as we learn in 5, maybe we'd learn if there is a reason for the name. Rocky was not Marciano's name, more of a nick name, as it was Rocco. Mom would have stayed at home while dad worked, because he hated the idea of Adrian working after they were together (Rocky 2+5. He'd been working with Mickey Goldmill for 5 years b4 Rocky 1. Mickey had built up anger in Rocky 1 because he had all of the talent, but was wasting it. It was at a head in Rocky 1 when Rock got kicked out of his locker at the gym. We know he was a street fighter in 1 when he was sharkin' and 5 when he handled Morrison street style. Rocky 5 says he has a criminal record when he finds he lost all of his money. People on the block called him a bum and had little respect in general from others. He had lost some 20 fights. With these facts we can all kind of guess what story it would be. Basically a down and out guy, but if it had a good ending it would mess with the chronology of the films if not done carefully. I am a fool, I LOVE Rocky movies. I'd see 7 if they made it. I can't see another Rocky with out Sly... unless he played dad. I can't wait for 6, but everything I see and read seems like he is the ghetto Socrates, lol. A departure from what we usually know. But I will be in line 1st day 1st showing at Mall of America Dec. 22.

I don't think Rocky's prequel would be successful. The original Rocky that won Best Picture in 1976 really portrayed how he went from being a no one to be a someone. If there was a prequel there wouldn't be any challenges for him.
I asked a question about Rocky just a few weeks ago....

how did you get so many points? you are number on on the leader board.
As far as the rocky prequel question. Rocky Balboa would beat up kids in the playground, get expelled, and live on the streets.

Rockefeller C. Balboa, a leading student in elementary whose immigrant Italian parents named him after a great american, was a sharp young man on the way up. His grades and charisma and excellence in sports had him leading his peers, until one day, tragically, some of the blue-blood kids competing against Rockefeller cornered him after school and beat him to a pulp.
Sadly, he ws beaten badly enough to sustain minor brain damage and slow motor skills.
Young Rockefeller spent over a year healing, and swore that he would never again be a sissy. Sadder still his parents were killed in a car crash as he overcame his injuries, and he was forced into foster care. His life changed, and he had to change with it. In the tougher schools of Phillys outskirts and working class neihborhoods, he abandoned his scholastic efforts to become a tough guy, a hood at times, and a fighter.
As his potential to move outside of the mean streets of Philly slowly dissapeared, "Rocky" as he soon would be known, become a sort of hometown hero to the locals. The dockworkers and mill laborers all recognized him and greeted him regularly.
etc etc etc

Show Appalling Greed winning the championship belt.
Cut to scenes of Rocky doing his club-fights and working as a muscleman for a loanshark.
Include the opponent who pulled out against Greed, and why.
