I wouldn't say "violated". But in our house I believe in privacy and respect. The children are taught that when someone is in the bathroom they are not to be bothered. I tell them that anything they need to say or ask, unless it is truly an emergency, must wait until I am out of the bathroom. Period. I think boundaries are important.

No, angry that I can't even go to the bathroom without an audience. That's why I lock the door. I have to, otherwise I end up with my 3 older children (my husband and I have 4 children)walking in and asking me what I'm doing. Even with the door locked I can't get any peace. They pound on the door and rattle the doorknob and yell for me. So friggin' annoying...

Depends on how old they are. When they're little like 2 or 3 they really don't know what they're doing or what you're doing for that matter. If they were school age though that would be a little innapropriate and I'd tell them not to walk in while I'm in there.

Not in the least. My husband and I are very open about things like that. And when my kids were younger, i would go to the bathroom with the door open so I could hear my kids. so it doesn't really bother me. They can come in and brush their teeth or take a bath for all I care.

Heh, going to bathroom is a spectator sport in our house!! Our son is two and always follows us in...and god forbid you don't let him flush!! Personally, I think it's good experience for potty training, which will be coming soon. We'll work on privacy issues later.

With LITTLE kids, say 5 and under, it's pretty darn normal. I don't think I've gone to the bathroom alone for about 7.5 years.
Now I do get ANNOYED sometimes though!
