Or do you resist the temptation?

I'm talking about a $400 per night hotel room.

The Ritz-Carlton. Everything is pretty top-notch. No cheap stuff.

Did I ever say that *I* stole them? I'm simply taking a poll here. Some of you miserable slobs really need to get off the computer and go make some friends, rather than sharing your negative comments with complete strangers.

getting some toiletries is fine ( but in moderation!), it actually saves the hotel employee's time ( calling the front desk, front desk will answer, front desk will call housekeeping, then housekeeping will deliver to your room....). But its wrong to steal towels.

Staying in 5-stars... if you want a dozen of their stuff they will give it to you anyway. I

Honey, I know you're not that MISERABLE to stoop down to the level of petty theft. If you like them so much, ask for them, but don't just take the stuff. You have to respect the maid, who might be responsible to give inventory records to a superior that because of you might be missing x number of items. If you can afford a $400/night hotel, I am sure you have the courtesy to proceed appropriately.

No it's stealing and someone has to pay for those goods eventualy and if no camera saw u it will be the maid. I know because I work in a hotel and the employees are responsable for everything that vanishes. Anyway don t do that they can check on cameras and see u

Sure why not? Those freebies ought to be included in the high azz rate anyway. As long as the housekeeper's busy, I always take a roll of tissue, a couple of towels, whatever my hands can carry. I don't give a damn about cameras, I'm so short they usually can't pick up a good image of me anyway because whoever I'm walking with always blocks me out, lol!

Not only is it stealing, but it is stealing cheap stuff. I mean, in a hotel like that, you can get lots of things free. If you're going to steal and be dishonest , you might as well go for something big.

I always want to. It doesn't seem like stealing because they are free anyway. I don't have the balls to just take it off the cart, but if I REALLY wanted something, I'd politely ask the maid for it.

The cost of those items are included in the cost of your room, however if the cost of operation goes up so to do the prices of the rooms... In the end we only screw the consumer..or each other depending on how you look at it. Do what you want just realize the impact of what you do.
See Ya 'round

Ask if you need them for your room. Don't steal off the cart. The maid stocks enough supplies for her rounds. It's really out of courtesy to the maid.

I won't take them just because they're free. (The free stuff aren't good quality anyway). If I really need an extra soap or whatever, I talk to the front desk. They'll send it in...free.

No, because they aren't free. You're just a lowlife theif who apparently snuck into the hotel or used a stolen credit card.

if you are staying at the Ritz-Carlton, you don't need to steal. if you are staying there and do need to steal, you should consider the Motel 8.
