I went to the dentist two days ago, so he can replace the temporary cap with a permanent one. After putting it in place, he asked me to bite as hard as possible. I did, and the crown denture cracked?

My question is:
Is this an indication that the material is poor? She said that she will send it back to be repaired? She claims that the repaired is going to be as good as the original.
I have difficulty believing this. Are my doubts justified?

That happens sometimes with porcelain crowns if the bite was too high and you bit down real hard that can cause the porcelain to crack which it did. What the dentist will do is sent it back to lab and have the porcelain re-stacked then they will fire it so it will be as good as the one before.

That can happen with the porcelain crowns, my dentist told me to get the gold because they last forever. My crown was on my back tooth so it didn't matter to me. If it were in the front i probably would have went with the porcelain.

This could have happened because the bite was not right. Sounds like it was too high. This is very common. When they send it back to the lap, IT WILL be good as new. Dont worry.
