A lot of people are because he had affairs and the Bay of Pigs. The Bay of Pigs mainly wasn't his fault--from reading "An Unfinished Life" Jack had a gut feeling that it wasn't right to attack Cuba. He consulted many people, even past President Eisenhower! JFK made the decision from other people, and they were wrong.

He was just a man. He never really had a chance to prove himself as a world leader, but because of his youth, the small children that he left behind, and the fairy-tale feel of his presidency, he has become American national legend and a national hero. Nobody ever talks about the fact that he cheated on his wife or was addicted to painkillers.
