i would say around 5/6 but it would depend on the individual child.

I don't think it should have to do with age. In other countries whole families live in one room residences and have no problem and people aren't freaked out by breastfeeding...In some countries women go topless on the beach...I'm not saying children should change in front of each other, but unless it makes the child uncomfortable it shouldn't matter. There's always the bathroom for changing; nothing wrong with sharing a room. I think it should depend on the family's finances and the children should also be taught how to share in other ways, if they don't share a room.

Before this became an issue in western culture children of the opposite sex slept in the same room until one or the other left home.
Now with all the issues that go on it's best to give each child his or her own room as soon as possible.

I think I'd want my children to have their own rooms from the start if they were of opposite sex and you had the space. My baby brother slept in a crib in my room until he was old enough to sleep in a "big boy" bed, so it was never really an issue.

Definitely by age 7, but unless it is a real problem to arrange suitable room situations, age 4 or 5 would be better.

I have a 7 yo boy, 5 yo girl and 3 yo girl who all share a room. The boy has the top bunk all to himself and a corner of the room with a desk that is his. The girls have the bottom bunk which is a full sized futon bed.

i've got a boy and a girl. They both have been sleeping in their own room since day one. And they continue to sleep in their seperate rooms, with no problem. My little brother was 11 when he finally stopped sleeping with my mom. If possible, you shouldn't have kids share a room, especially of the same sex.
