You can be a Christian and believe something that conflicts with the teachings of Christ, but that just means you are human. God is not, and He has all the answers. All of them. Look to Him if you need answers,, He won't let you down!

I don't see how. Love them? Yes. Natural? On what grounds? From a purely secular view, the only study that claimed evidence of homosexuality being genetic was a 1993 study dome by Dr. Dean Hamer. It has long-since been refuted & rejected by geneticists across the globe as being a faulty study that showed no firm results. So secularly, we can say that no evidence for in-born homosexuality exists.

And from a Christian perspective, Paul clearly condemns homosexuality in the New Testament. To me, Christian means that you believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. So how can homosexuality be condemned in the Bible and still be OK? One or the other beliefs have to be let go, because both don't fit.

And for the purpose of argument, let’s say that the Bible is interpreted incorrectly & homosexuality is natural. Violence is also a natural thing in humans. Does that mean that since it’s natural that I have carte blanche to act out my violence against others? Greed is another natural human trait (and anyone who doesn’t believe this has never watched a toddler yell “Mine!” at the top of his/her lungs). Does that mean that because I am naturally greedy that I should act on those impulses by stealing whatever I want? Again, that is preposterous. But that is the same argument that is being made for homosexuality.

Can one be Christian and believe that homosexuality is OK? Not in my opinion. But then again my opinion is based on facts & the Bible, instead of just how I feel about it.

In the same way that alcoholism can be an inherited trait, I believe homosexuality is often a biologically induced condition. Just as with alcoholism, those with this trait need to resist the temptation to act upon it, even though it may be against their natural desires.

I do beleive that a significant portion of homosexuals and especially bisexuals claim to be so because it has been so accepted culturally. It is a popular idea in college that this is your time to experiment, and it is done simply for the sake of experimenting and not because any natural desire for it is felt.

You are asking in the wrong place.

Doesn't matter what any of us think. God's opinion is the only one that matters. He has spoken to us. He had His Words written down for us to read. It's called the Bible.

God speaks to us through His Word. What does the Bible say? Get a copy and read it.

Your next step is to believe it. Then you will know what to think.

(BTW don't just read the parts about homosexuality. Read the whole thing, bit by bit, every day. When you're finished, start over. You will never learn it all. People spend lifetimes studying this book.)

Only if you are a "thinking" Christian. Christ's primary message was, "Hey, knock that **** off and be nice to each other!". If Jesus was here today, I suspect he might disapprove of homosexuality, but I'm sure he would take into account that there are homosexual animals throughout the animal kingdom, and figure they must be part of "Dad's Plan", so he'd keep his mouth shut and just continue being a nice guy.

I'm 100% certain Jesus would be more comfortable with gay people than bigots.

If you are an Atheist and believe in evolution from a lower form, how can you accept homosexuality as normal?

Male + Male = Zero birth rate
Female + Female = Zero birth rate

If it was then there would not be too many species left now would there?

Science couldn't have changed a thing.

There is only one requirement to be a Christian and that is professing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. I don't think a Christian should go around being pro-gay or anything like that, but I also believe that we don't have the right to judge anyone else because we will be judged with the same measuring stick we judged with and I already have enough to answer for!

Sure, you can. You're just not a fundamentalist Christian (or, at least, you're not a fundamentalist Christian on that one point). Most of the more liberal denominations don't condemn homosexuality, and the more mainstream, moderate denominations tend to think that it's bad, but not a gigantic, evil blight upon the Earth. The more conservative denominations are louder, though.

That depends...do you want to be a complete freak, weirdo, take every word in the bible literally Christian;
or do you want to be a person who calls themselves a Christian but still has a brain of their own??
Tough choice...
By the way, they are very close to proving that homosexuality IS genetic. Then what, all of you will hate people because of the way they were born?
Probably....

Yes you can.
There are many people who are prepared to tell you what you can and cannot believe in order to be a christian, but this belies the reality that what it means to be a christian has itself changed and evolved over the last couple of thousand years. Even those who are prepared to tout the bible as their source of truth forget that the bible itself was originally created out of the writings of a great number of people, went through a major editing process, numerous translations and even today exists in a number of versions.
More often than not human beings seek to discover information which affirms their view of the world rather than challenges it. I would spend more time with the people who are prepared to listen and to encourage you to find your own way than with those who are prepared to condemn you.

Sure According to the Bible sin is the nature of man. If you mean can you believe that homosexuality isnt sin then that is another question. I think we have to accept what God teach's as opposed to trying to fit God into what we believe.
