You wait 3 weeks to worm again. She is passing the adult worms because they are dead (or dying) and therefore she is able to pass them out of her body. But, there could be eggs still in her intestinal track, those take about 3 weeks to develop, therefore that is why you wait. Don't over worm her, that is hard on her little system

Worming puppies is a delicate job - you have to ensure that you don't over worm them otherwise it will be less effective. When you worm any dog that has worms the wormer will do it's job and kill the worms already present in the dog/puppy's system. The body then rids these worms which is why you can now see them in her poo's.
To help prevent worms in the future puppy's should be wormed every two weeks until they are 2-3 months old and then you should worm them every 3 months thereafter.
Therefore do not fret at seeing the worms as they are better out than in !!
Make sure you follow the instructions on the wormer you are using - if it says worm again in 2 weeks then do that and you are doing the best that you can for the little woofer !
All the best and just relax and enjoy the little bundle of love x

Well, my first question is when did you worm the pup? As they will pass a bunch of roundworms after they have been wormed, dead ones.

So, if you wormed this pup in the last couple of day, then no; wait 2 weeks.

If it has been over a week, go ahead and worm with Pyrantel Pamoate suspension now. Use 1 ml per 10lbs of pup. But never give less than 1/2ml.

Repeat every 2 weeks until 16 weeks old. Nemex or Strongid are Pyrantel Pamoate. This is also available at pet and feed stores. This is what the vet uses.

You worm them now, and repeat every 14 days for a total of 4 doses!!!!! That simple. This is if you have the pyrantel wormer!

Do not use the safeguard wormer in puppies this young. Also piprazine can be harder on the intestine and cause diarrhea, so stick with the pyrantel..also called Nemex in the stores. It is the SAME ingredient as strongid. Weight of the puppy is key!!!

YouCAN GET NEMEX OTC!! People do not know what they are saying.
You can give the dose every day for three days, and then follow it up with another dose in 14 days and then 14 days after that.
Usually that is not necessary, but you can do it for a heavy worm load.

Pyrantel is VERY safe!!!

Follow the instructions on the packaging, or from your vet.

If you've already wormed her, those are the dead adult worms in coming out.

If you haven't wormed her, those are not likely to be the only ones, so a worm treatment is still necessary.

But definitely don't give her another dose if you've already given one within the last 2 weeks!

worm her NOW with nemex or a generic derivative of. You can buy it at a local feed and seed store. Just ask for nemex and the person running the store will direct you to which generic brand they have. Please do NOT use the all in one worm pills that are huge. They don't work and can be potentially dangerous to your dog.

OOPS didn't read it right. You've already wormed the pup so you should expect to see her pass dead worms.

I have rescued pups that were so bad they did have to get done more often. My vet has told me I can do it every three days. What are you using. You should be in contact with the vet to get the dewormer. Over the counter isn't the greatest. You need to get Nemex or Strongid from your vet

THE VET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They know exactly what to do. that's why they train for 2 years longer than a doctor. Over the counter junk is a waste of money and can even cause additional problems.
