"Nirvana" should have been in quotation marks. Another way of saying it would be "self-actualization"

Nirvana is supposed to be a moment of absolute and perfect bliss and happiness, a complete understanding of the absolute truth and deepest secrets of the universe.

I don't believe it's possible for us to reach such a state in this life, but we can get pretty close to it.
The times that I remember now in which I've been close to that state are, once when I spent an hour of absolute calm and happiness after doing some meditation, another time in which I simply became completely humbled when watching at the stars and the moonlight in the silence of the countryside, and well, making love with someone you truly, truly love can be compared to nirvana as well...
To me, the closest we are to "Nirvana" is when we realize how beautiful, simple and wonderful is to be alive.
When we are enjoying every second of our existance, that's bliss. Calm and optimism are not perfect, but it's the closest we can get.

Nirvana is heaven in Hinduism. You need to be death to go there. So I don't think any one has experienced it.
