I don't know about cutting eyelids off but many people sleep with their eyes open. my doctor told me this when I was working nights and asked him if a room had to be dark to get good sleep. he said no you'd be surprised how many people sleep with their eyes open. I was surprised.

Yes people sleep with their eyes open all the time. Sleep has to do with the brain not the eyelids.

Uhh, they probably have bigger problems. Without eyelids, their eyes would collect all kind of particles, like a windshield without a wiper. Then their eyes would dry out and they'd go blind.
But yeah, if a person is tired enough, they can sleep with their eyes open.

It wouldn't be easy. People with no eyelids have to contantly put eyedrops in their eyes to keep them from drying out.
