why whould you!? if he jumps off a cliff would you? If you were me, you would stay yourself and make moves from that point on.

Of course you should test him. Better to be safe than sorry. But dont be up front about it. Test him with little clues and games.

to me no one should be an in an relationship if they have to test that is wrong that mean he does'nt trust u and u need to find someone else who will trust you and not been testing you
