Perhaps because they have a good reason to do so... Their own agenda... They're miserable, and people who are miserable can't spread joy... they spread depression... They too, don't want to be alone... They want others to be miserable like them. They lost all hope and they will nip hope in the bud if given the chance.
I am soo sorry for them. The fact that they don't believe in God doesn't mean he doesn't exist. Just like they can't prove empirically that they have a brain... we can see evidence of it, more or less... but they'd have to die to prove it...
Or, perhaps because if God exists then so does accountability... and dang, that's harsh..
I've never seen people more in denial than them...
I keep thinking these days... about the fact that "every knee shall bow" before Jesus, and that "every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ in Lord to the glory of God the Father".. even those wh didn't beleive... That's like the ultimate nightmare for a non-believer... I'd be miserable too.... "Poor unfortunate souls"...
Really, I pity them. They're going to be soo humiliated!!!
Ever stumble accross those shows where they dispute the paternity of a child?? the guy usually comes out like a macho dude and swears and what not, and tells the world the kid is not his... and then the DNA test says that he is in fact the father of the appointed child... what a moron... That's kinda like what I am talking about!
I think their conscience is at war with their beliefs... and perhaps they think that if they say out-loud that God doesn't exist it will become true... ???
Don't worry, the best they can do is just that... I am just sorry to see such a waste of people, for something of no worth...

maybe you should turn that question around on your self. Why do those that believe try to prove to others that he does exist. When maybe what you might want to do is open a Science book and learn some math while you are at it to and then you may dot just take what someone has written for the blatant truth and be able to read between the lines of what man back in the day wanted you to believe and do. Try that one for a change.

Why don't you post a link to an example of this behavior? I don't see it anywhere, and I think you're making it up.

Most non-believers here at least seem to be fully aware that they do not need to prove that God doesn't exist, because of course the complete lack of evidence for the existence of a god is enough to decide the question, for the time being at least.

I think you're confused about this, and think you're seeing attempts to prove a negative where in fact there are no such attempts.

Is the burden of info on the believer? this is totally a formidable fact. I call for info. I advise, Occam's rule favoring the skeptic is lifelike in technology & arithmetic, yet we at the instant are not inventing vaccines or engineering area exploration missions right here. R&S is obviously meant as a place to ask questions approximately God between different religious concerns, ergo the belief of God's life is a valid premise right here. All questions straight away touching directly to God's life or non-life right belong in Philosophy, no longer R&S, as considered one of those question technically pertains to epistemology, no longer theology or divinity. Our God isn't one out of hundreds; he's taken under consideration one of one. each and every honest faith posits the suitable transcendent being or concept. Names are many and ideology approximately His nature are assorted, yet God is One whether we call Him El, Allah, Zeus, Earth mom, or The Wheel of Karma. a baby will additionally inform you that a tall skinny glass of water holds better than a short extensive glass, in spite of the two having an identical quantity. Get a baby youthful adequate and that they're going to inform you the tall glass holds greater once you pour water from one to the different precise in front of them. so which you will would desire to pardon me if I deem infantile "complication-unfastened sense" insufficent and beside the point for discussions of theology.

We do so because we want religion out of our politics, more than anything else. Enlightening the masses is the only way to make that happen.

On the other hand, if you wouldn't mind giving up your right to vote, along with your religious peers, I'd be satisfied. You all could pray and have revivals and all kinds of fun stuff, and the rational folks could go about properly governing and enriching humanity.

Hope that clears it up for you.

I don't know, maybe they've had bad experiences from self-righteous "you're all goin' to Hell but me" Christians and then dislike the whole religion, therefore targeting its foundation. It's like when people encounter a few bad black, latino, or white people and dislike the whole race. But they have to realize no matter how hard they try they will never sway the heart of a steadfast Christian.

I believe....but I have many thoughts and questions against the bible. I think non-believers spend just as much time as believers do trying to get people to believe god exists.

Their inner person (soul, if you will) troubles them because despite their unbelief, they're afraid that they're wrong, and that God will hold them responsible for their unbelief. When they seek to prove God doesn't exist, they are looking for support to bolster their unbelief and drown out the still small voice calling them to belief and salvation.

Well, that should upset the lot of them :)
