1. Fill a plastic bag with ice.
2. Wrap a small towel around the bag so you can hold it for a long period without freezing your hand.
3. Wrap the bag of ice around the gum. Hold it there for 20 minutes. You want to freeze the gum so that it cracks off.
4. Chip gum off slowly, do not yank at it. If it starts to stretch or becomes sticky again, reapply the ice.
5. If you are unable to get all of the gum off, repeat the process.

There's a great product caled "Goo Gone" that takes gum not only off shoes, but clothes, too. It also removes anything sticky, like labels, and even takes oil paint off your hands. You can probably find it in a hardware store...or, if not, online. I don't know what I did before Goo Gone!

There is a product called either Goo Off or Goof Off. It can be purchased at most stores that carry a full range of cleaning products such as Walmart or Kmart. It will take anything sticky off of anything.

Definitely ice cubes. Or you could wrap your shoe up in saran wrap and put it in the freezer.
