I think what you'd want is a "day room," assuming it's the daytime. Sometimes people in transit do that, freeing the room up by late afternoon to rent it again. If it's nighttime already, then you'd just get a normal room and normal rate.

Some places reduce the rates when you only rent for a short period of time, as opposed to a full night. They know the score, and do not ask anything. In Mexico they are called Garage Hotels. I do it all the time.

I don't know of any place that allows that.... I think the standard is one night's regular rate no matter how long you actually stay.
