Well, I always see women in America saying they love British, Irish, and Australian accents(to name a few), and I've seen American men claim they love women with accents as well, but do people in other countries like American accents?

I've heard that the closest thing to an American accent to other countries is a German accent. So, it's a rough sort of sound and not all that pleasing. No harm intended. Just some interesting info.

As an Australian, I find the accent from the North East of the USA much more appealing to my ear than the accents of the South. It's a personal preference, I guess.

I've been in the USA for several months now and people are always commenting on my "beautiful" accent!!

I don't. English is not my mother language, and I think most people who adopt an American accent do so because it's more practical, because it's heard more, or because there's more material about it than about other accents. But I'd say very few people choose to use the American accent just because they like it. But that's just my experience. I don't claim I'm right.

Just to let you know, there is a difference between an accent and a dialect. When people basically speak the same language but there are regional differences, it is called a dialect. For example Americans and Britons and Australians all speak English but we have different dialects. When a person who speaks a different language learns a second language then they have a accent. Like a French person speaking English. To answer you question, I think only other English speakers like Brits and Aussies like our American dialect.

Not all Americans have the same accent. It depends on the region. Compare an accent from the deep south to someone in California and you will see there is quite a distinction.

Except for the accent of the New England areas ( cities like New York and Boston are included here), I find American accents kind of annoying.

I don't even notice Americans as having an accent. Of course there are the Southern and New England but I've been all around the country and the vast majority of people just sound normal to me. I'm born and raised in CA if that means anything.

I'm from Texas, and I've been to the UK, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Australia and Canada. All the women said that they LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED my accent.

The Aussies were the most taken with it... I didn't have a free day or night the whole month I was there.

I doubt it. American accents are too common. Heard on radio and TV all over the world. Not so exotic.
