It's harder for long hair to hold curls than short hair...but try this...
spritz your hair before curling it. It holds it nicely.
try different size curling irons. if all the curls in your hair are the same size it begins to look 'fake' AND the curls blend together and lose their variety. Try about 3 different sizes (1/4", 1/2", 3/4", 1" etc.) to get a more natural effect
also...don't wash your hair the same day you try to curl it. Dirty hair holds curls better. Wash it the day before. It's a HUGE difference.

I would start at the back bottom of your hair. Don't curl a piece that is wider than the barrel of the curling iron.Clip the hair up and bring it down one section at a time, again,no wider than the barrel of your iron. Be sure to pre spray each section you bring down with spray before you curl it.It will take you a while to do it this way but it will look wonderful when you are finished.I hope you have a wonderful time at your dance!

Hot sticks work best! You may need two sets. I had to use a reg set and a travel set on my daughters long thick hair. Use a good gel or mousse and then use "small amounts of hair "on each stick.Small amounts make the best curls that will last longer! Make sure to get the ends around the sticks and roll the rest of the hair over the ends to keep from having hooks(ends sticking out). Leave them in until your hair and sticks are completely cool.Wait to brush through your hair until you are ready to leave and spray it with your fav spray. If you want nice waves use more hair on each stick. My daughter was Most Beautiful,Most Sch Spirit, Valentine Sweetheart, went to 5 proms, cheerleader, class off.several timesand a bunch of other stuff and I always fixed her hair for pics.I used them on other friends of hers who would have me do their hair for proms &pics also. Have fun at your dance!

check out beautyriot.com. but you want to use at least a 2in barrell curling iron. hot tools is a really good brand. so take a section of your hair, starting at the top and curl it( turn your wrist in not out) the barrell should be vertical. keep it for 10-15 seconds and just let go vertically, the curl should be spiral shaped. if you need anymore help just message.

Just spiral every piece of hair. Not individually ofcourse. Once all spiraled spray and tease. If you can't do it yourself go to the salon and get it done.
