why do guys get mad when you give them money to pay for your
food?

Because they want to be the man in the relationship they don't like it the girl give them money that's not manly.

usually,the one who asks the other out pays for both of them.If he asked you out,he might expected something else in return for his spent money;but if you were decided to pay for your food,you should have told him from the beginning that you desire to pay for yourself...(if you do that,use a softer tone,tell him that you would really like to do that,that is an old habit,that you would feel better doing that...and so on...so that he doesn't get offended). Men have this urge of making us look dependent on their company.They get frustrated in the company of strong women who know what they want and also have the money to support themselves...

I dont get mad when my girlfriend pays for my food I appreciate it when she does but when I have money I would rather pay for it myself and have her buy something for herself. I dont like having anybody pay for my food unless they insist on it

It is some kind of macho ego killer, the caveman should always kill the food for his cavebitch. If she did the clubbing then where would he stand in society of cavepeople? Let him pay, it will change as time goes on and he becomes more secure

It makes the guy feel like thay cant pay for the two of you. It also shows respect to the girl leting you know that he will always pay for you.

They are just trying to be chivalrous, and nice. But don't make them feel stupid for doing it, there is a little pride involved. I know I wouldn't want to be thought as a loser and that she is paying my way for everything. But I also know that you can share the costs

i think its ok if a guy pays for your food...its like a universal tradition to show respect and care....however.. nowadayz it seems an insult to a female when a guy is treating a lady with the traditions they concider old....while the guy may feel he is doing something right....the girl on otherhand is feeling insulted....so talk abt it with eachother.

well me and my ex (now im single :( ) use to switch on who paid. he would pay 4 one date and i would pay for the other. at 1st he wouldnt let me pay...but that was just becuz he wanted to make an impression. (he did) but then as the realtionship went on we decided on that! maybe he gets mad becuz he likes to control things!
