that is an oxy-moronic statement, since dead means not alive, dead people cannot live anywhere.
However, if a dead person or animal is left exposed in a desert, assumeing there aren't any predators or scavengers to pick it clean, the corpse would dry-out and look alot like a mummy with out wrapping. I've seen this in many nature specials. Watch TLC or discovery channel

The decomposition is more rapid in the hot climates than in the colder ones.

All deserts are not hot, in fact some are very cold. It depends where the desert is.

i think they smell betterbecause there is no humidity and the weather is dry so any liquids of the body will evaporate also the pharops of egypt buried their dead in the desert
