Did you leave your dog outside for an extended period of time- this actually sounds like heat exhaustion! Sisters sounds like parvo. With temps around 100+ degrees- doesn't take too long for a playful dog to get overheated and die.

More than likely it is Parvo....very deadly disease that can be vaccinated against. I recommend not having any more puppies in the same area for a couple of months. Parvo can live in the ground for 6 months and it is very contagious. That is why it is so important to get your puppies vaccinated at 6, 9, 12, and 16 weeks of age before they are around other dogs.
Parvo causes vomiting and nasty diarrhea with blood and muscus all in it. It also has a very distinct smell, which is very nasty. The symtoms can be little to none. I have seen some pups stop drinking and they will almost always run extremely high fevers.
I am very sorry about your loss.

Oh one other thing.....the vaccinations at the tractor supply are NOT as good as the as the vets. These vaccinations are not from the same place. Some of these so called vaccinations are from other countries where the testing is not a good as here. Please play it safe and go to a vet.

sounds like parvo you should have gotten them all of their shots when you took them to the vet. You can also but the shots and do it yourself. If there is a tractor supply store near you they sell them. Parvo is a disease that pretty much eats the lining inside the dogs stomach. they foam at the mouth and eventually die unless treated but treatment is really expensive so you should really just get him vaccinated. If the dog wasn't having any of those symptoms when you re sister took it to the vet its not the vets fault I mean how would you know if there is something wrong with the dog if he had no symptoms. Also you should clean out the dogs house and everything with bleach to kill all the bacteria but it will still be there for a few years so make sure that if you bring anymore dogs home that you have them vaccinated first so they don't get sick too.

In my area there has been a bacterial, not viral infection going around in dogs...I don't know what area you are from so I cant confirm this. Did you take your dog to the vet postmortem? They could have preformed an autopsy or given you an idea as to what the problem could have been. Is their anyone in the area that doesn't like your dog? It is possible they have fed him something poisoned...some ppl are nuts. You could still call your local veterinarian and just ask the person that answers the phone if they are seeing a rash of sick dogs coming in and out with those symptoms. They may confirm something is going around.

the place are you positioned? i latterly rescued a domestic dog from a rural look after. He became into going to circulate alongside to a distinctive foster homestead in some weeks, the place he'd have a extra effective shot at adoption. He won his vaccines the 1st day, and with the aid of the subsequent afternoon, he became into vomiting and had diarrhea. We rushed him to the vet, and he examined constructive for Parvo. I found out that in the event that they're ever uncovered to Parvo, yet have not yet grow to be symptomatic, the vaccine can in reality develop up the affliction. He has been in ICU for 8 days, and would get to come again homestead the following day.

The green foam in the mouth, Did you give the pup any of those greenies? Their is a thing about the greenies causing sudden death in dogs if they eat them . something in the greenies causes them to foam up in the stomach of the dog which could cause death if you didn't feed the pup any of them then I'am not sure . if you find anything different out please let me know I've got a 1yr old pit bull . I send my sympathy out to you and your sister over the loss of your dogs. Where do you live you can send me an email.

it does kind of sound like parvovirus, did you have your dog up to date on his vaccinations? if you're planning on getting a dog anytime within the next 6 months to one year, you have to be careeful, because the virus will still be viable in your house and where ever your puppy was while it was shedding the virus. you'll have to find out from the vet though, they'll be able to do some tests to find out for sure. did you sisters puppy and your puppy interact at all?

Sounds like Parvo virus...very contagious and very deadly. I'm sorry about your loss. Talk with your vet about Parvo and how to prevent it before you get another dog. Good luck.

Didn't you take the dog to a vet? the only way to find out is for a vet to do a necropsy.
