The best ice cream in the world is reckoned to by Vivali's in Florence (firenza) Italy.
They have avast range and ship worldwide. Special orders.
Pistachio, coffee or some of the fruit flavours are exotic.
Go to Florence for a weekend break and just follow the empty ice cream cartons you will end up at Vivali's.

They did a survey in a newspaper recently about what goes int o ice cream, additivies etc . The two that came out best out of all surveyed was Hagen Dazs and Marks & Spencers own brand, they use fresh cream and have the best ingredients , and no additives. Personal favourite hagen dazs cherry chocolate brownie

Stracietlla spanish ice cream like a sort of vanilla chocolatey coffeeish flavour whom ever goes to spain must try stracietlla. yum mmmm
It's not a brand you just buy it from an ice cream van or ice cream place.

Don't know about the "nicest", but the most delicious I've tasted is Godiva Raspberry Truffle. Eat the whole thing in one sitting.
