Their sales numbers had dropped sharpley. Celica was competing with other new toyota models like Matrix, CorollaXRS, and now the Yaris is getting a lot of attention.

They were not selling enough to keep making them in the US. Too much competition with Honda/Acura to continue making them. Might as well get a Corolla with a body kit, because the engine size is the same. :(

it didnt sell well enough so they replaced it with the Scion tC. they also have the solara but they intend to stop the solara soon and they are making a new Supra

basically it became the scion tC

when they introduced scion, their cheap young oriented car got moved down, since few old people, 28+ wanted it
