North Korea. The Southern border is walled up and fortified against an invasion (which includes minefields, high-caliber artillery bunkers, and dug-in tanks). The rest of their border control system is a carbon copy of that which existed in the Soviet Union (the entire border, including sea shores, is patrolled on foot, there are full-time hidden observation posts in the more important segments; the sea shore and the territorial waters are additionally patrolled by border control ships).

The more totalitarian the country, the more prison like its borders. The best defence is freedom and respect for the dignity of human life.
