There is no such thing as a Teacup Maltese, or any other "teacup" breed. Check with the American Kennel Club for breed listings, and you will not find any "teacup" breeds. This is a marketing ploy for selling small dogs at extraordinary prices.
As for breeders; do your research on them. There are certain things that a good breeder will do, like interview *you* to see if the kind of dog they have suits your lifestyle and what you want it for. They will have written health and temperament guarantees and will always have a clause for spaying/neutering your pet, and for returning it to them should you not be able to keep it for whatever reason. A good breeder should offer all of this, for no more that $700. Beware of breeders who won't allow you to see the parents, or who don't ask *you* anything.

And please please please, don't order a dog over the internet. Use the 'net as research and to find breeders, but don't order animals from them. You have to remember that animals are not like buying a CD or watch. They are living, breathing creatures with feelings, needs and personalities. You are responsible for their care, and if you start their relationship with you by ordering one as if it was a book, you will find yourself sharing your home with an animal that you can't tolerate or control. It could hurt you, your family or a stranger on the street and depending on the laws in your area, you could end up in jail because your dog hurt someone. Think about it!!!

Look up the American Kennel Club's website, and they should be able to direct you with a breeder in your area...I'd avoid any other group (ie. UKC, WKC, etc.) I have seen cockapoos with WKC papers! Your best bet for a dog that will stay the size the breeders say is to go to the AKC site and get a puppy from an AKC breeder.

I will never buy any dog not registered by the AKC.

There are many well bred dogs from the other groups, but if they will register a well known mixed breed, what else will they register?

LMAO!!! "GOOD breeder" & "teacup" in the same question???

Since THERE'S NO SUCH THING,the ONLY "breeder" who'd USE the B-S word,is by defintion NOT a "good breeder"!!

Go read the BREED STANDARD!!!At the AKC site!
